Voting for MP civic bodies poll begins

News4u-News Desk-Polling for the second phase of civic bodies elections in Madhya Pradesh began Monday morning amid tight security arrangements. The polling, which began at 0800 hrs, will continue till 1700 hrs. About 19.87 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise at about 2,900 polling stations, including 1,008 sensitive and 409 hyper-sensitive polling stations, for election to one municipal corporation, 22 municipal councils and 123 nagar panchayats. State Election Commission Secretary Anupam Rajan said that election to the president’s post in Satai nagar panchayat in Chhatarpur had been cancelled following the death of BSP candidate. Election to the post of councillor for ward 13 in Khaniadhana nagar panchayat in Shivpuri district had been cancelled due to error in printing of ballot paper.
