When was digital India Launched?
Digital India and the Make in India programs have been the two biggest projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first step is the launch of the MyGov.in the portal. On the 1st of July 2015 with the plan to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. The IT to empower people in areas relating to health, education, labor, employment, and commerce, etc.
Aim of Digital India
Digital India encompasses various initiatives under a single program that prepare India for becoming a knowledge economy and for the upbringing of better governance to citizens through a synchronized and coordinated engagement of the entire Government.

With being synchronized along with various central Departments/Ministries and State Governments. The prime minister is the chairman of the monitoring committee on Digital India. 1. Digital Locker Systems
It aims to minimize the use of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. The Digi Locker is the short term for “digital locker” which came in February 2016 and the service set by the Government of India in July 2015 to provide a secure dedicated personal electronic cloud space for storing the documents of resident Indian citizens.
The following has been implemented as a platform for citizen engagement in governance, through a “Discuss”, and “Disseminate” approach. The mobile App for MyGov would bring these features to users on a mobile phone. The MyGov is currently an active project that is a citizen engagement platform founded by the Government of India to promote the active participation of Indian citizens in their countries governance and development. In simple terms, the project works more or like an online platform to engage citizens in work
3. Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Mobile app
Citizens and the government organizations for achieving goals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan can make use of the scheme. The app under the Swachh Bharat Mission is specifically built to collect data on the use of toilets. The ministry of drinking water and sanitation (MDWS) has launched the android based mobile application to record the number of household toilets and their usage in rural India.
4. eSign framework
This would allow the nation’s people to digitally sign a document online using the Aadhar authentication. The e Sign Framework is an online electronic signature service in India to facilitate an Aadhar card holder to digitally sign a document without using physical cryptographic tokens. The signature service is to facilitate by authenticating the Aadhar holder via an Aadhar-based e-KYC (electronic know your customer) service.
5. Online Registration System (ORS)
Under the e Hospital application that has been introduced. The application provides important services such as online registration, payment of fees and appointment along with online diagnostic reports, enquiring availability of blood online, etc.
6. The National Scholarship Portal
This is a one-stop solution for end to end scholarship process right from the submission of student applications, verification, sanctions, and disbursal to end beneficiary for all the scholarships provided by the Government of India. The National Scholarship Portal initiative target to make the scholarship processes easier. From the submission of the application, verification, sanctioning and disbursal to end beneficiary and everything related to the government offered scholarships is available on this single portal online.
7. The Digital India Platform (DIP)
The project was for large-scale digitization of records in the country that would facilitate the efficient delivery of services to the citizens.
8. The Bharat Net
This is a high-speed digital highway to connect 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats in the country. This would be the world’s largest rural broadband connectivity project using visual strength. Under the initiative, a high-speed digital highway will connect all 250,000-gram panchayats of the nation. This is a telecom infrastructure provider, set up by the government of India for the establishment, management, and operation of National Optical Fiber Network. This is the world’s largest rural broadband project.
9. The Next Generation Network (NGN)
This is an IP-based technology to manage all types of services like voice, data, multimedia and other types of packet switched communication services.
10. BSNL Wi-Fi Hotspots
The BSNL has undertaken a large-scale deployment of Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the country. The user can connect to the BSNL Wi-Fi through their mobile phones.

While connectivity is one criterion, enabling and providing technologies to facilitate the delivery of services to citizens forms the other.

Digital India Platform
The Digitize India Platform (DIP) is an initiative launched by the Government of India under the Digital India Program to provide digitized services for scanned document images or physical documents for any organization. The platform came on the 1st of July 2015 as part of the Digital India Initiative.
The development of high-speed BSNL Wi-Fi hotspots across the country is yet another initiative to improve digital connectivity in the country.
The Next Generation Network
BSNL group of services launch it to replace 30-year-old telephone exchanges to manage all the types of services like voice, data, multimedia and other types of communication services.
Electronic Development Fund
The fund would be set up to support the manufacturing of electronic products that would help create new jobs and reduce import. The funds to promote innovation, research, and development of products to create a resource pool within the nation.
Center of Excellence on the Internet of Things (IoT)
In partnership with NASSCOM, Deity, and ERNET in Bangalore, the Center of Excellence will enable rapid adoption of IOT technology and encourage new strategic growth. IOT is to enable assistance to all citizens in services like transport system, parking, electricity, waste management, water management and women’s safety to create smart cities, smart health services, smart manufacturing, and smart agriculture, etc.
